Through the Community Builder Program, the Marketing & Communications Capacity Building Member will support Lake Agassiz Regional Council by strengthening its communications systems, outreach efforts, and public-facing materials. The member will help translate complex planning and development work into clear, compelling content that supports transparency, engagement, and regional collaboration.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Assist with developing and managing LARC’s social media and digital communications.
• Create and maintain a content calendar aligned with regional initiatives, public meetings, and project milestones.
• Track and report on engagement metrics to improve reach, clarity, and consistency of messaging.
• Build and organize a photo and video library documenting regional projects, meetings, and community impact.
• Attend meetings, workshops, and events to gather content and capture stories from the field.
• Assist with website updates, including project pages, news items, and public notices.
• Support creation and distribution of newsletters, announcements, and stakeholder communications.
• Assist with designing, writing, and editing print and digital materials that explain planning processes and regional programs.
• Identify new opportunities to improve public awareness, accessibility, and outreach across the region.
• Support community engagement and communications logistics for regional initiatives as needed.

Digital Communications Coordinator

Through the Community Builder Program, the Digital Communications Coordinator will assist the Marketing Manager in creating and planning social media content, writing articles for our bi-weekly newsletter, and sending direct emails promoting events to our partners. This person will collaborate with FARRMS staff to manage our digital presence, drive community engagement, and effectively communicate the value of our programs and events. This role is crucial for amplifying our organization's mission through engaging social media content, informative newsletters, and targeted direct outreach.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Social Media & Content Marketing
•Content Creation & Scheduling: Develop, create, and schedule a diverse range of engaging content for social media channels, maintaining a commitment of at least five posts per week.
Program Promotion
•Create timely and compelling social media posts to directly promote all upcoming program events, webinars, workshops, and initiatives.
Organic Education
•Design educational content to increase audience knowledge in the organic certification process using messaging and information from Marketing Manager.
Diverse Content Development
•Design and execute "extra" content streams to maintain audience interest, some of this content includes:
•Sharing farmer recipes.
•Creating content around seasonal themes and holidays.
•Producing short-form video content (Reels).
•Highlighting partner events.
•Sharing industry-relevant digital marketing tips for farmers.
•Conducting and featuring "Farmer Spotlights."
Newsletter & Blog Post Content
•Article Writing: Write, edit, and contribute articles for the organization's bi-weekly newsletter, including:
•Producer’s Perspective features.
•Farmer Directory" profiles.
•Program and event recap articles to showcase FARRMS’ impact.
•Messaging Support: Assist program staff with refining and standardizing messaging for external communications to ensure clarity and consistency.
Direct Outreach & Communications
•Email Communication: Develop and execute targeted direct outreach emails, primarily for communication with partner organizations.
•Stakeholder Communication: Maintain occasional direct email communication with farmers regarding specific program needs or opportunities.

Youth Mentoring and Group Support Member

Through the Community Builder Program, the Youth Mentoring and Group Support Member will build trusted relationships with youth under 18 who are at risk for systems involvement, disengagement from school, or seeking positive ways to connect and grow. Members will mentor youth individually and in groups, supporting their development of prosocial skills, emotional well-being, leadership, and advocacy. Working as part of a local team of professionals, members will create spaces where youth feel seen, heard, and supported while learning to set goals and make positive choices.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Youth Mentoring & Support
• Build consistent, supportive relationships with youth through one-on-one and small-group engagement.
• Model healthy communication, boundaries, and problem-solving.
• Encourage youth in goal-setting, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
Group Facilitation
• Co-facilitate or assist with group sessions focused on social-emotional learning, leadership, and advocacy.
• Plan or adapt activities that foster teamwork, reflection, and positive peer interaction.
• Support youth participation in community service, skill-building, or enrichment opportunities.
Collaboration & Coordination
• Partner with Youthworks staff and community agencies to identify and support referred youth.
• Participate in team meetings, supervision, and professional learning.

Youth Independent Living Support Member

Through the Community Builder Program, the Young Adult Mentoring and Independent Living Support Member will help young adults gain the skills, stability, and confidence to transition successfully into adulthood. Members will build relationships with youth ages 18 and older who are working toward housing stability, employment, education, and connection. Members will assist with life-skills development, peer support groups, and community engagement, helping participants strengthen resilience and independence.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Mentoring & Relationship Building
• Provide guidance, encouragement, and accountability to young adults pursuing personal goals.
• Support youth in developing practical life skills such as budgeting, communication, and time management.
• Foster connections that promote belonging and confidence.
Group & Program Support
• Assist with facilitation of life-skills classes, peer support circles, and workforce readiness workshops.
• Help plan social and recreational activities that encourage community participation.
• Support group tracking, attendance, and feedback to strengthen program quality.
• Collaboration & Resource Connection
• Partner with local shelters, school homeless liaisons, and service providers to connect youth with resources.

Community Engagement and Outreach Member

Through the Community Builder Program, the Youth Leadership and Engagement Member will serve alongside Youthworks’ Youth Engagement Leaders (YELs) to elevate youth voice, advocacy, and leadership across North Dakota. Members—ideally young adults ages 18–24—will co-create and lead projects that empower youth to influence programs, policies, and community initiatives. Members will model peer leadership and collaboration while supporting youth-driven activities that build confidence, purpose, and connection.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Youth Voice & Advocacy
• Support the development of Youth Advisory Boards and youth-led initiatives.
• Facilitate discussions, workshops, or listening sessions that elevate youth perspectives.
• Help youth prepare for and participate in civic engagement and advocacy opportunities.
Project Design & Coordination
• Co-lead projects such as community panels, awareness campaigns, or youth storytelling efforts.
• Assist in collecting youth feedback to inform Youthworks programming and public awareness efforts.
• Collaborate with YELs and staff to document outcomes and lessons learned.

• Participate in professional and leadership development, including the National Network for Youth Leadership Certificate Program.

Community Media Training Coordinator

Through the Community Builder Program, the Community Media Training Coordinator will serve as a Teacher, Technical Advisor, and Editor for CS Productions / Community Spotlight TV. This role supports a TV and film media broadcasting training, fieldwork, and internship program that teaches the fundamentals of TV production and filmmaking for a local community news broadcast. The Member will build organizational capacity by training participants, supporting hands-on production, and ensuring high-quality, community-centered media content.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Equipment Operation & Studio Support
Operate video, audio, lighting, and editing equipment during training sessions, field production, and studio-based activities.
Serve as a studio assistant by supporting set-up, breakdown, and organization of production spaces.
Assist participants with safe and appropriate use of media equipment and production tools.
Instruction & Training
Instruct community participants and interns in the fundamentals of TV production and filmmaking, including camera operation, audio capture, lighting, and basic editing.
Provide hands-on demonstrations and guided practice during studio sessions and field work.
Support learning in media ethics, storytelling, teamwork, and broadcast standards.
Technical & Media Support
Provide technical support during filming, recording, and post-production activities.
Assist with troubleshooting equipment and workflow issues during production.
Support editing and review of video content for community news broadcasts and media projects.
Community Media Production
Assist with planning, producing, and editing community-centered media content.
Support coverage of local events, organizations, and initiatives for Community Spotlight TV.

Special Projects Coordinator

Through the Community Builder Program, the New Town City Library Special Projects Coordinator supports library services, cultural preservation efforts, and digital inclusion for the residents of New Town, North Dakota. This position will play a key role in expanding access to educational programs, preserving Indigenous history, and connecting local organizations to build a more vibrant and informed community.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
-Support the Library Director with special projects focused on the Indigenous community of New Town.
-Assist patrons with accessing Wi-Fi, eBooks, databases, and public computers.
-Provide one-on-one digital literacy support to build tech confidence and promote digital independence.
-Expand the capacity of after-school, summer, and adult education programs.
- Assist with developing the New Town Library's upcoming tool lending library.
-Coordinate cultural and wellness programs, with a focus on partnerships that highlight the culture and heritage of the MHA Nation.
-Assist with researching grant opportunities
-Contribute to social media content creation and e-newsletter development.
-Coordinate communications for events and library activities.
-Plan and implement community events and programs.
-Build relationships with local organizations and key stakeholders to advocate for the library’s mission and expand community partnerships.

Community Wellness Member
Elbowoods Memorial Health Center | Native Connections Program

Through the Community Builder Program, the Native Connections Community Wellness Member supports suicide prevention, mental health promotion, and culturally grounded wellness activities for Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara (MHA) youth and families. This service opportunity focuses on outreach, education, and community-based prevention efforts that strengthen protective factors, reduce stigma, and build community capacity.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Support planning and implementation of Native Connections prevention activities, including youth workshops, healing circles, community events, and cultural gatherings
• Assist with suicide prevention and mental health awareness efforts, including outreach, tabling, and support for QPR trainings
• Coordinate logistics for events and trainings (materials, sign-ins, set-up, follow-up)
• Conduct community outreach with schools, families, and partners to increase awareness of wellness resources
• Support coalition meetings and cross-agency collaboration through notetaking and communication support
• Assist with basic data collection and reporting, including attendance tracking and activity logs
• Help prepare culturally respectful outreach materials and approved social media content
• Participate in required AmeriCorps trainings, service days, reflection activities, and supervision meetings.
